The Brickwork socks are a simple, straightforward sock with an addictive knit-purl stitch motif that mimics masonry. I relish meditative knits that are easy to settle into after a long day. MATERIALS **Yarn:** 1 skein of Merino Super Sock by La Bien Aimee (75% Superwash Merino Wool, 25% Nylon, 467 yds / 425 m – 100 g), in the colourway Coquelicot. Or approx. 284 (332, 385, 441) yds / 260 (304, 352, 403) m of fingering-weight yarn. Alternative yarn suggestions are for example Sincere Sock by Expression Fiber Arts, Uni Merino by Universal Yarn, or another solid-to semi-solid sock yarn. **Needles:** US 2 / 2.75 mm in your preferred needles for knitting small circumferences (magic loop, DPNs, short circulars, etc) **Notions:** Stitch markers, smooth waste yarn in a contrasting colour. CONSTRUCTION These socks are worked from the cuff down and feature an afterthought heel. The Brickwork pattern is worked on the leg and instep, while the heel, toe and sole are kept in stockinette stitch. Although the pattern is charted, Sizes 1 and 3 follow slightly different instructions to maintain symmetry across the instep, so care should be taken to follow the correct instructions for the chosen size.
