The Drabinka socks are a comfortable and satisfying knit featuring a minimalist textured pattern inspired by ladders — “drabinka” in Polish. Worked from the toe up with a single skein of DK-weight yarn, the construction allows the leg height to be adjusted according to the amount of yarn available. SIZES 1 (2, 3) **Recommended ease**: 0.5–1" / 1–2.5 cm of negative ease. FINISHED MEASUREMENTS **Leg/Foot Circumference**: 6.75 (7.5, 8.5)" / 17 (19, 21.5) cm. **Leg Height (adjustable)**: 3.75" / 9.5 cm. **Foot Length**: Adjustable. MATERIALS Yarn: 1 skein of Sock Merino DK by Woollala (75% superwash Merino wool, 25% nylon, 246 yds / 225 m – 100 g), in the colourway Piaski Czasu (Sands of Time). Or approx. 200 (220, 245) yds / 180 (200, 225) m of DK-weight yarn. Note! If you might run out of yarn before completing the socks (such as for the largest size with longer feet), you could consider working either the toes or the cuffs in a similar DK-weight contrast-colour yarn. Alternative yarn suggestions are for example Drops Fiesta by Garnstudio or 7 Brothers (7 Veljestä) by Novita. Needles: US 2.5 / 3 mm (for rib) and US 3 / 3.25 mm needles in preferred style for working small circumferences. Notions: Stitch markers. CONSTRUCTION The socks are worked from the toe up in the round, beginning with a Turkish CO. The foot features the textured Drabinka Patt on the front and St St on the sole, followed by a Fleegle heel construction with gusset increases. The leg continues in the Drabinka Patt throughout and is finished with 3 x 3 Rib and the Ruke Bind-Off. Both foot length and leg height can be adjusted as desired.
