In this design, Linda Lötberg has combined all her favorite features: top-down construction, a German Twisted Cast-On, twisted ribbing, a reinforced heel flap and a Three-Needle Bind-Off for the toe. The socks feature a simple, yet engaging broken 3x1 rib pattern. This makes the knitting smooth but interesting enough, and the result looks more complicated than it really is. SIZES 1 (2, 3) FINISHED MEASUREMENTS **Foot Circumference (unstretched):** 7 (8, 9)" / 17.5 (20, 22.5) cm. **Leg Length:** 5.25 (5.5, 5.75)" / 13 (14, 14.5) cm or desired length. **Foot Length:** Adjustable. MATERIALS **Yarn:** 1 (1, 1) skein of Corriedale Sock by Manduzana (80% corriedale, 20% nylon, 437 yds / 400 m – 100 g) in the colourway Marvolo. Or approx. 241 (284, 350) yds / 220 (260, 320) m of fingering-weight sock yarn. Alternative yarn suggestions are for example Filcolana Arwetta, True Crime Yarns Basic sock fingering and Limmo design handdyed sock yarn. **Needles:** US 1.5 / 2.5 mm DPNs or long circular needle. **Notions:** Darning needle for weaving in ends, extra needle for Three-Needle BO if using circular needles. GAUGE 32 sts x 45 rnds to 4" / 10 cm on US 1.5 / 2.5 mm needles in Rib Pattern, after blocking. CONSTRUCTION The Amanda socks are worked top-down in the round. The cuff features a twisted rib, while the main structure of the leg and foot is a broken 3x1 rib pattern. The heel flap is reinforced, and the toe is shaped with decreases at the sides and finished with a Three-Needle Bind-Off. Instructions are written for DPNs.
