You will need approx.: size 1= 480m/525yds, size 2=640m/700yds, size 3= 00m/875yds, size 4= 1120m/1225yds. All knitters knit differently, yarn amounts are approximate. If you knit to a different gauge your blanket will be a different size and you will need more or less yarn than stated. The pattern is rated #2 for the beginner with a little experience. The design contains only knit and purl stitches but the repeats of the pattern are quite large.
