Sweet Satsuma Toys

**Knit up cute fruits, perfect for summer crafting. These cuddly satsumas are just the right size for kids to play with and are fun and fast to knit.** Each satsuma uses only 20g of orange Dk yarn and only knit and purl stitches/simple increasing and decreasing to shape. Satsumas measure about 9cm/3.5 inches tall when finished. **You Will Need:** A pair of 3mm straight knitting needles Yarn: about 20g of orange Dk yarn for each satsuma. I used Rico Ricorumi DK in Terracotta (for the muted colour)- you can make one satsuma from this ball of yarn. I also used Drops Muskat Unicolour in Dark Orange (the brighter orange)- you should be able to make two satsumas from this ball. For the leaves I used a small amount of Stylecraft Special Dk in Meadow (1065) You can of course substitute any Dk yarns you prefer. You’ll also need a length of black Dk yarn for the mouth, some toy stuffing, a darning needle and a pair of 6mm black toy safety eyes with click-on backs for each satsuma (or you can embroider the eyes, recommended if the toy is for a young child)- you can find suitable eyes on my website.
