Woodpeckers Tapestry

This pattern uses the double knitting technique to create a reversible tapestry featuring 11 species of North American woodpeckers. It is knit in two colors and the accent color is added with duplicate stitch. A full species key can be found at the end of the pattern. The pattern is in english and includes charts for the color work and brief descriptions of techniques. I would recommend that you are familiar with double knitting before beginning. The cast on, edge, bind off, and hanging methods used can be substituted for whichever methods you prefer. Finished dimensions: 14" x 12" Gauge: 19 stitches and 28 rows = 4 inches Gauge can be adjusted to alter finished size of the tapestry Materials needed: - Worsted weight yarn in 3 colors: ~150 yds of color A (white), ~150 yds of color B (black), ~5-10 yds of color C (accent color) - 4.0 mm (US 6) cabled knitting needles 16+ inches (or whatever is needed to obtain your desired gauge) - Tapestry needle - Stick/dowel for hanging - Stitch markers (optional) Please do not redistribute this pattern.
