Shell Yeah! is a shortie sock pattern inspired by the Canaveral National Seashore. The stitches formed represent the water and waves of the ocean, and the scallop shells found along the shoreline. Knit cuff down, Shell Yeah! combines classic sock knitting techniques with an easy to memorize stitch pattern, keeping things beginner friendly. Seasoned sock knitters can easily swap out the cuff, heel, and toe for their preferred methods, or add length to the leg section. SIZES: S (M, L) based on foot circumferences of 8-9” (9-10”, 10-11”) or 20.32-22.86 (22.86-25.4, 25.4-27.94) cm Please note these are based on foot circumference, not shoe size. Choose a size with 1-2” or 2.5-5 cm of negative ease. The sock will be knit to the length needed to fit your foot. SUPPLY LIST YARN: Two fingering weight 50 gram half skeins, approximately 231 yards/252 meters each. This is also a great project to use scraps as the CC, or a sock set with two 20 g minis! Yardage will vary based on foot size, and taller socks will require more yardage. NEEDLES: US 1/2.25 mm 9” circulars, plus US 1/2.25 mm needles with a long cord to close the toe, or size needed to meet gauge. NOTIONS: 2 stitch markers (BOR marker should be distinct), waste yarn or stitch holders, darning needle, scissors, sock ruler (optional), crochet hook (optional). GAUGE: 32 stitches, 56 rows over 4”/10 cm in stockinette
