Inspired by flowers of the Galega genus, this pattern offers a meditative knitting experience to showcase a special skein of sock yarn. SIZES 1 (2, 3, 4) **Recommended ease:** 0.5–1.5" / 1.5–4 cm of negative ease at the leg/foot. FINISHED MEASUREMENTS **Leg/Foot Circumference:** 6.5 (7, 7.5, 8)" / 16.5 (17.5, 18.5, 20) cm. **Leg Length (including the cuff):** 5.25" / 13.5 cm for all sizes. **Foot Length:** Adjustable based on your foot length. MATERIALS **Yarn:** 1 (1, 1, 1) skein of Point Prim Sock by Fleece & Harmony (80% Canadian wool, 20% Canadian mohair, 400 yds / 366 m – 104 g), in the colourway Chestnut. Or approx. 230 (270, 305, 345) yds / 210 (245, 280, 315) m of fingering-weight sock yarn. Alternative yarn suggestions are for example Mondim by Retrosaria Rosa Pomar and Rambler by Woolly Thistle. **Needles:** US 1.5 / 2.5 mm 9" / 23 cm and 32" / 80 cm circular needles. **Notions:** Stitch markers, cable needle. GAUGE 35 sts x 48 rnds to 4" / 10 cm on US 1.5 / 2.5 mm needles in Stockinette Stitch, after blocking. 38 sts x 48 rnds to 4" / 10 cm on US 1.5 / 2.5 mm needles in Lace And Cable Pattern, after blocking. CONSTRUCTION The Galega socks are worked from the cuff down, with a lace and cable motif along the top of the leg and foot. The socks begin with a 2x1 ribbed cuff. The leg is then worked with a lace and cable pattern across the front, while the remaining stitches are worked in stockinette stitch. A slipped stitch heel flap is then worked back and forth before working the heel turn. The gusset is then shaped in the round, and the foot is worked while continuing the lace and cable pattern on top. The socks are finished with a wedge toe worked in stockinette stitch and the remaining stitches are grafted together for a seamless finish.
