The decreases form a beautiful floral, or dependent upon yarn color, snow flake esque design atop your crown. While my sample uses DK and lace weight held together, which gives a nice softness to the cabling, it is perfectly suitable to use a worsted or 2 strands of fingering held together to achieve gauge. The hat is worked from the brim up and is fully charted. There are three circumferences and three lengths as depicted in the size chart in the photos section. This pattern uses simple cable stitches and I would recommend it to knitters of any skill level who have completed either a cabled item OR a hat.
