Only leaves

Only Leaves Scarf began as a new addition to my [Only Scales][1] pattern family, alongside the Cardigan, Vest, and Cowl. But as I knitted the first version, the motifs began to look more like leaves than scales. That is how the name was born. I called it a scarf because that first version is smaller and can be worn as one. If you prefer a shawl, the pattern explains how to repeat certain sections to make it larger. **SIZES** 1 (2) **FINISHED MEASUREMENTS** A) Total width: approx. 51.25 (59)" / 130.5 (150) cm. B) Total depth: approx. 17.75 (23.5)" / 45 (60) cm. **Construction** This triangular scarf is worked from the top down, increasing four stitches every other row. **Yarn: DK-weight** Main Color (MC): Held together with one strand of Yarn A and one strand of Yarn B. VERSION 1 Yarn A: approx. 80 g / 356 yds / 324 m. Suggested yarn: Manos del Uruguay Alegría – 75% merino, 25% Polyamide (445 yds / 405 m – 100 g). 1 skein, color: 2241.Yarn B: approx. 38 g / 356 yds / 324 m. Suggested yarn: Isager Silk Mohair – 75% kid mohair, 25% silk (232 yds / 212 m – 25 g). 2 skeins, color: 2S. VERSION 2 Yarn A: approx. 76 g / 529 yds / 480 m. Suggested yarn: Julie Asselin Natured Fine – 100% wool (780 yds / 708 m – 112 g). 1 skein, color: Antlers 2. Yarn B: approx. 40 g / 525 yds / 480 m. Suggested yarn: Julie Asselin Anatolia – 60% kid mohair, 40% silk (330 yds / 300 m – 25 g). 2 skeins, color: Voilier. **BEADS** Recommended bead sizes for DK-weight yarn: Delica 8/0, round 6/0 or square 4 mm. VERSION 1 Bead 1: Miyuki, round 6/0, 1260 beads units, color: 4201. VERSION 2 Bead 1: Miyuki, round 6/0, 1218 beads units, color: 4201. **GAUGE** 18 sts x 26 rows = 4" / 10 cm. Measured in stockinette stitch, worked flat with N1 and MC, after blocking. **Needles and Cables** Main Needle (N1): US 7 / 4.5 mm circular needle.
