***'Quietschbunt'*** (means excessively colorful) comes in two sizes and offers a wealth of possibilities for combining colors and yarn scraps. The large version is a three-quarter square that can serve as a substitute for a cardigan or poncho, while the small version is a standard triangular shawl. To keep the overall look from becoming too busy, two neutral colors (all in fingering weight) from the same color family should form the background (e.g., black/white/gray or dark brown/beige). The remaining five colors are left to your imagination and yarn stash; the only requirement is that there should be visible contrast within the individual sections. The stitch patterns are just as varied as the colors. There is a section each for slipped stitches, mosaic knitting, tuck stitches, and brioche. Damit das Gesamtbild nicht zu unruhig wird, sollten zwei neutrale Farben (alle in Sockengarnstärke) aus der gleichen Familie den Hintergrund bilden (z.B. schwarz/weiß/grau) oder dunkelbraun/beige). Die übrigen fünf Farben bleiben der Phantasie und dem Wollvorrat überlassen; wichtig ist nur, dass innerhalb der einzelnen Abschnitte ein sichtbarer Kontrast besteht.
