(See more quotes from the test knitters below.) The triangular shawl is worked sideways in one piece. Knitting starts with just a few stitches, continues with a graphical foliage pattern, then seedpods of poppies, and finishes with some rows of garter stitch and bind off with picots that can be beaded. The size of the shawl can be easily customized according to the instructions included. Fingering weight yarn is used for the sample shawl, I used [Martin's Lab Merino Singles][8] and loved it, if you plan to work a matching hat and mitts (available later in the [Coming Into Bloom][9] e-book), get an additional skein. The shawl would also look great when worked from a heavier yarn. The pattern has both written and charted instructions.
