Soon I have 5 - 6 months of rain, snow, wind and winterstorms in front of me! I like shawls, but somehow the wind always finds its way down the neck. The Almondy neck-warmer will be my rescue-line this winter. So cozy, warm and easy to put under my wintercoats. Simply perfect! The knit itself is fun, fast and rewarding. I have spoiled myself with 2 samples, the next time I will knit it as a gift to someone that also need a warming cowl this season. **Construction** Top-down and seamlessly. You start from the collar worked in the round. Thereafter you create some depth on the front by shortrows (worked back and forth), followed by the shoulder-shaping worked in the round. When you have achieved enough width, work is split for front and back that are worked separately (back and forth). The side-edges in rib-pattern are worked back and forth from picked-up and knit sts. **Design** There are 2 models to choose from: The blue neckwarmer with the collar worked in stockinette sts. The beige neckwarmer with the collar worked in rib-pattern. Both models features a roll-neck, sloped shoulders and depth on the front neck for perfect fit. Possible modifications are: shorter/longer neck, wider front and back-pieces, wider/more narrow ribbed hem and edges. **Sizes** Neck circumference: 35/37/39 cm = 13.75/14.5/15.25” Deciding size: I recommend that you choose size depending on the neck circumference. Once the collar is worked, you may extend the width of shoulder to your liking. **Yarn** The blue neck-warmer is worked holding 2 strands of the following yarn together: Angel from Permin, in the colourway 8841118 (lace-weight). This yarn comes in balls of 25 grams (0.88 ounces) and 210 meters (230 yards). Of this specific yarn you will need 580/605/630 m = 635/660/690 yards. The beige neck-warmer is worked using 1 strand of Eco cashmere vintage from Gepard, in the colour-way 104 (DK weight). This yarn comes in skeins of 50 gr (1.76 oz) and 150 m (164 yards). Of this specific yarn you will need 450/470/490 m = 490/515/535 yards. **Needles** Circular needles, 3.5 mm/US4 for the neck. Circular needles, 4 mm/US6 for the shoulders, front and back-pieces. Straight (or circular needles), 4 mm/US6 for the side-edges. **Gauge** 21 sts and 30 rows in stockinette sts = 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4". **The pattern** All measurements are given in cm's, as well as in inches.
