Inside Outside Cowl

Do you have sock yarn leftovers and want to knit something other than more socks or a mitred square blanket with them? This pattern makes use of one simple but clever technique to combine leftovers into a cohesive, blended fabric where all leftovers are welcome and the result is a versatile, wearable cowl. Knit in the round using the technique of helical stripes (fully explained in the pattern), the cowl is turned inside out before joining the two ends to allow the magical blending effect of reverse stocking stitch to do its work. No purling required! This is simple comfort knitting at its best and is entirely flexible in how many yarns you incorporate. Options are given for all sorts of variations, and although this was originally designed with sock yarns in mind, it works well with a wide variety of yarns, including handspun. So gather up your remnants, decide whether you want to plan your colour changes or go totally random, and have fun!
