HESPEROS MINI SKIRT Quiet folds. Gentle movement. Lasting form. Hesperos is a knitted mini skirt with four structured pleats that open into a softly flared silhouette. The upper part of the skirt is fitted, with the pleats beginning just above the fullest part of the hips. A folded elastic waistband creates a clean and comfortable finish. The skirt is worked seamlessly from the top down in the round. Short rows add length at the back, and increases at the sides gradually shape the skirt. The pleats are created by casting on additional stitches and are folded and secured from the wrong side during finishing. The hem is worked in seed stitch. The pattern includes instructions for adjusting both the upper-skirt length and the overall skirt length. SIZE GUIDE The skirt is designed to sit below the natural waist, slightly below the navel. To choose your size, take two body measurements: • Measure your circumference slightly above the fullest part of the hips, where the pleats begin. This is the most important measurement when choosing your size. • Measure your circumference below the natural waist, where the waistband of the skirt will sit. Compare both measurements to the finished measurements below and choose the size that best matches your body. At the beginning of the pleats, the skirt should have no negative ease. If your measurements fall between sizes, choose the size that provides a small amount of positive ease at this point (approximately 1–4 cm / ½–1½ in), allowing the skirt to skim comfortably over the hips before flaring out. The waistband is designed to fit closely, so a small amount of negative ease at the top of the skirt is perfectly fine. These measurements are for the skirt worked as written. The length can be increased by working additional repeats before beginning the hem. GAUGE 25 sts × 36 rnds = 10 × 10 cm / 4 × 4 in in stockinette stitch worked in the round after blocking. NEEDLES 3 mm / US 2.5 circular needles, 40 cm / 16 in or 60 cm / 24 in, and 80 cm / 32 in. YARN The sample is knitted holding one strand of Isager Tvinni together with one strand of Isager Mulberry Silk throughout. A main yarn with good elasticity, shape retention and durability is recommended so that the skirt recovers well and keeps its structure during wear.
