The body and border of the scarf are worked at the same time for a clean, seamless finish. The scarf comes in two sizes. Tie it around your head, neck, or waist; it makes the perfect layering piece for cooler days or when your 'fit needs a little whimsy. The Marina Scarf is worked flat width-wise. First, stitches are cast on for one end, and increases are worked to form the beginning of the border. Next, increases are worked to shape the scarf while maintaining a stripe pattern. After reaching the halfway point, decreases are worked to shape the rest of the scarf. **Sizes** --------- 1 (2) The Marina Scarf comes in two sizes. Size 1 lighter, and the perfect size for a head scarf. Size 2 is a full-length scarf. **Finished length:** 50” (63”) / 127 (160) cm **Finished width:** 13.5” (17”) / 35 (43) cm **Gauge** --------- 37 sts x 43 rows = 4 in / 10 cm on US 2 (2.75 mm) needles in stockinette. Needle size is a suggestion, and you may need to go up or down a size in order to meet gauge. **Needles** ----------- Circular needles: US 2 (2.75 mm) / approximately 24” (60 cm) or longer **Materials** ------------- One strand of fingering weight yarn. Wool or wool-blend recommended, but feel free to use any fiber with a nice drape.
