Forager brings a wildflower garden to your needles. A simple textured wrap is scattered with tiny embroidered flowers, stitched from your favorite fingering-weight scraps after the knitting is done.
Knit flat as a rectangle with polished i-cord edges, Forager is rhythmic and relaxing on the needles. Once blocked, dig through your scrap basket and add 39 colorful wildflowers, using just 1–5 yards per flower. **No embroidery experience required. A video tutorial is included to show you how.**
A tiny 2" seam at one corner transforms the finished rectangle into an easy loop that drapes naturally around your neck and shoulders and stays beautifully in place.
---
### **Design Details**
Forager pairs a simple 1x1 cable texture with colorful embroidered wildflowers, giving you plenty to enjoy on the needles and something new to play with once the knitting is finished.
The textured fabric is both written and charted, with i-cord worked along every edge for a tidy finish. After blocking, the flowers are embroidered across the wrap using fingering-weight scraps held double.
Mix colors, yarn bases, and those tiny leftovers too pretty to throw away. Each flower takes only a few yards, so every Forager becomes a unique collection of treasured scraps.

### **Construction Overview**
Forager is worked flat from end to end as a simple rectangle in an all-over 1x1 cable pattern. An i-cord cast on, integrated i-cord edging, and i-cord bind off frame the fabric as you knit.
Once the knitting is complete, the wrap is wet blocked before the embroidered flowers are added. Using fingering-weight scraps held double, you'll stitch tiny wildflowers across the fabric with the included video tutorials to guide you through each stitch.
Finally, a short, nearly invisible 2" seam is worked at one upper corner. Much like our Mossblossom Wrap, this small seam turns the rectangle into an asymmetrical loop that drapes easily around the neck and shoulders.
Prefer a longer or shorter wrap? Simply work more or fewer chart repeats before binding off. Please note that modifications will change your yarn requirements.

### **Yarn Notes**
Our sample is knit in Black Elephant Singles, a 100% Superwash Merino fingering-weight yarn with 400 yds / 366 m per 100 g skein.
The smooth single-ply gives the cables crisp stitch definition while keeping the finished fabric soft and fluid. We recommend a smooth fingering-weight yarn in a solid, tonal, or lightly variegated colorway for the main color.
The embroidered flowers are stitched after blocking using assorted fingering-weight leftovers held double. Mix yarn bases, textures, and colors freely. Each flower uses approximately 1–5 yards, so even the smallest scraps in your stash can become wildflowers.
