Queen of Hearts’ Neck Protector

This is a top-down cowl/collar in stockinette edged in seed stitch, with a 
little short row to protect the back of your neck from draughts and... suchlike... This pattern is part of a set of 6 whimsical patterns for super chunky yarn, inspired by Alice In Wonderland. Each can be whipped up in an hour or so, or before breakfast, (but perhaps not all on the same day). All designs are based on tubes, as a nod to the rabbit hole that started the whole adventure... Each project was made from a single skein of White Gum Wool Rope Yarn (48 ply). Melissa of Changeling Coloured Yarns cleverly created this gradient colourway (Red Sundew) for this design, to blend between two colours in WGW’s range, so the gradient can be extended by adding a solid end colour if increasing the size. * Sizing: 37-53 sts x 27rnds = 28-43 cm W x 18-20cm H when laid flat. * Pattern is written only, with recipe included for altering the size. * Sample used 52m (57y). * Needles: 9mm (US size 13), but opt for a size larger (or more) if you’re a tight knitter. This set was designed with White Gum Wool Rope yarn in mind, but you can make a 48ply-equivalent by holding multiple yarns/strands together, or with an icord maker, or you may be able to make use of a stash of finger knitting.
