*Fluoresce* : A perfectly symmetrical triangle-shaped shawl, knit from side to side using two-color brioche with a stockinette center faux seam.
You might be familiar with my [Floweret shawl][5], a lovely little one-skein one-color brioche shawl. Well, you know me, of course I had to make one using two-color brioche!! Introducing Fluoresce!! This one is very similar to Floweret, except using two-color brioche throughout, but with the same stockinette center to give a focal point.
**Yarn Notes:**
Grab 2 skeins of fingering or light fingering yarn for this two-color brioche shawl! This pattern is perfect for those beautiful singular skeins of yarn in your stash. I’ve written this shawl pattern to work with most skeins of fingering weight yarn. If you want to ensure that you have enough yarn for this design, weigh your yarn before using and then weigh again when you’re getting close to halfway. This will help you to know how much yarn you’re using and whether you’ll have enough to finish. You can easily modify the size of your shawl based on how much yarn you have.
See the last photos here of the yarn I used in skein form!
**Skill level:**
Beginner two-color brioche friendly!! This is also perfect for any brioche beginners who want to learn the most straightforward brioche increase and decrease.
**Techniques used:**
I-cord Tab Cast On, knit, purl, brioche knit (brk), brioche purl (brp), sl1yo, brioche increase and decrease (brkyobrk & brLsl dec), side to side triangle shaping, i-cord edging, i-cord Bind Off.

**Construction Notes:**
This shawl begins with a gorgeous i-cord tab cast on, which continues as an i-cord edging along both edges for the entire shawl. The triangle shape is knit from one corner to the other completely in two-color brioche, by increasing on one edge until you get to the desired depth, then decreasing on the same edge until you reach the same stitch count as the beginning of the shawl. The increases and decreases are worked in 4-row increments, which help to give this shawl a longer wingspan. When you stop at the halfway point, you will create a stockinette “faux seam” down the center using your Main Color yarn, which will draw the eye and create an interesting focal point. Because of the nature of brioche fabric versus stockinette, this will make a noticable dent or notch in the center of the shawl!
Two-color brioche is the perfect fabric to showcase hand-dyed yarns and breaks up the natural pooling quite nicely!
**Modification Notes:** The construction of this shawl allows you to modify the size of your shawl based on how much yarn is in your skein! Extensive notes are included with pattern!
This shawl is so fun to knit and wear, and will elevate any outfit. I love wearing this shape kerchief-style, wrapped around my neck with the bottom of the triangle pointing downwards.
