The Olallieberry Cowl celebrates the lush hybrid berry that thrives along the California coast. Olallieberry combines berry-like nupps, slipped stitches resembling twisting vines, smooth stockinette, and purl ridges in a project that is both playful and engaging. **Size** - Depth at the deepest point: 28cm (11in) - Depth at the narrowest point: 18cm (7in) - Upper opening circumference: 56cm (22in) **Yarn** - Worsted weight, 180m (197yds) - Sample yarn: Junction Fiber Mill Making Tracks (100% American wool) worsted, 100g (3½oz), 183m (200yds), in Tangerine Twist - The pattern is designed to let variegated, self-striping, or self-patterning yarns shine. **Needles** - 6mm (US 10) straight or circular needles **Gauge** - 16 sts and 25 rows measure 10 x 10cm (4 x 4in) over stockinette (stocking) stitch, after blocking - Swatch to determine the needle size that achieves the correct gauge **Construction** - The cowl is worked flat starting from the back neck. - The shaping is achieved with increases at the end of RS rows, and an increase/decrease combination at the beginning plus a decrease at the end of WS rows. - Once the cowl reaches the required length, increases stop to create space for the back neck seam. - The pattern features four stitch patterns: Stockinette (Stocking) Stitch, Purl Ridge, Slipped Stitch, and Nupps.
