Adele's Market Tote

Adele's Market Tote is a breezy, stretchy market bag with alternating stripes of stockinette and a simple lace pattern. The tote is available in one size but the pattern is easy to modify to desired height. It was designed for the 2026 Chicago Yarn Crawl! The bag begins with a square garter stitch base. Without binding off, stitches are picked up along each edge of the base and joined in the round. The body of the bag consists of a 4 row lace pattern repeat followed by 7 rows of stockinette all the way up. Once the repeats are complete, all but 10 stitches on either side of the bag are bound off. The strap is knit flat and then joined with the live stitches on the other side using the Three Needle Bind Off. Techniques Used: - Yarn Overs and decreases (k2together, ssk) - Picking up stitches - Knitting flat and in the round -Traveling Loop technique - Three Needle Bind Off - *optional* Crochet Slip Stitches Materials Needed: - 300 yards of Premier Re-Ply - US 8 (5mm) circular needle with a 24" cable - 5 stitch markers - stitch holder - *optional* 5mm (US H-8) crochet hook.
