Forever Blowing Bubbles Shawl

**In loving memory of my husband Neil (1961-2023), keep blowing bubbles!** I love wearing giant shawls and totally wrap myself up in them. My husband used to ask me “ Another one???” when I had a new design on my needles. Well, sure darling!! A girl can never have too many. Unfortunately, my husband, my biggest fan and model starring in my Stained Glass Scarf pattern, passed away in September 2023, quite suddenly. He was a huge West Ham United FC fan from when he was very young. Their anthem: “I’m forever blowing bubbles” was the inspiration for my newest design, the Forever blowing bubbles Shawl. Knitting this shawl helped me staying focused during difficult times. At the same time, the colourful bubbles make it a very happy shawl indeed. A generously sized, slightly asymmetric triangular shawl. Not very hard to knit; only stockinette stitches and “bubbles” are used. It has I-cord edging all around to give it a finished look. The fun bit comes from the multi-colored bubbles scattered all over this shawl. They make the shawl “pop”. Finished size: unblocked: ca. 185 cm wide and 90 cm high blocked: ca 210 cm wide and 100 cm high Gauge: not relevant see “note” below” Fringe: The added fringe is a must! At least that’s my opinion. I think they give this shawl a classy boho finish. **Sock Yarn:** I tend to use more and more “sock yarns” for my shawls. They are usually made from wool for warmth and polyamide for strength, ideal for a daily used shawl. This time I used yarn from Lang Yarns, Super Soxx, 4 ply, super wash, Mix Tape Soxx. The “MIX TAPE” bit is important. Every couple of meters/yards this yarn has about 50cm/20 inches of contrasting color.The contrasting colored bits in this black yarn are used to make the bobbles. If you choose another yarn, please make sure that you yarn has the same build up. 4 x 100 gram of Color 901.0456 for the black/neon colored shawl or 901.0452 for the black/blue shawl.
