*Sink your hands into the cloud-like texture of this brioche shawl, where squishy reversible ribbing creates a fabric that’s as delightful to knit as it is to wear. Whether you’re drawn to the delicate drape of lace-weight mohair silk or the cozy warmth of worsted weight, this pattern welcomes any yarn weight you love. Knitted sideways with graceful increases that bloom toward the center, then symmetrically mirror back, this shawl grows under your needles in a satisfying rhythm. Best of all, you’re in control — save 50% or more of your yarn for knitting the decreases, making it easy to customize the size to your preference. From a quick 100g weekend project in fingering weight to a luxurious 300 – 400g statement piece in DK or worsted, this shawl adapts to your stash and your schedule. Marry it with lace-weight mohair silk for that dreamy halo effect seen in the samples, or keep it simple with a single yarn.*
**Sizes**
Small (Medium, Large)
**Finished Measurements**
Fingering weight + Lace weight mohair silk
51.5 (58, 64.5)″ / 131 (148, 164)cm wingspan length,
15 (17, 19)″ / 38 (43, 48)cm at widest part. Measurements taken after blocking.
DK or Worsted weight
74 (82, 90)″ / 188 (208, 228)cm wingspan length, 22 (24, 27)″
/ 56 (61, 59)cm at widest part. Measurements taken after
blocking.
The size is easy to customize by working more pattern
repeats for a larger size or work fewer pattern repeats for a
smaller size. Due to the sideways construction of the scarf,
it’s very easy to customize the size using any yarn weight
and needle size. Just make sure you use 50% or less of your
yarn during the increase section, so you have at least half of
your yarn remaining for the decrease section of the shawl.
**Yarn**
Fingering, DK, or Worsted weight
Hold 1 strand of lace weight mohair silk together with your main yarn for a fluffy mohair halo. This shawl can be knit with any yarn weight and different yarn amounts. Use 50% of your yarn during the increases section, and then use the other half of your yarn for the decreases section.
**Yardage**
Fingering Weight + Lace weight mohair silk
300 (400, 650)yds / 274 (366, 594)m of each strand of yarn holding 1 strand fingering + 1 strand lace
DK or Worsted weight
400 (600, 800)yds / 366 (549, 732)m
If you are holding 1 strand lace weight mohair silk together with your DK or Worsted weight yarn, then you will need the recommended yardage of each strand of yarn.
