Iris is the Goddess of Rainbows, as well as having the same name as my Great Niece, who is a total cutie and sassy with it. This shawl includes the feather and fan design element from the Beks shawl. The pattern has more repeats of the feather and fan rows and just one of the star stitch rows in between. The lacy nature makes for a very light weight shawl. I have knit the sample in contrasting Fingering Weight and Mohair Silk, but it would be just as lovely in one colour of fingering weight and mohair silk or even fingering weight on its own. The crescent shawl is created by knitting sideways, ensuring you never have too many stitches on your needle. The design is created with an icord on each edge for a neat finish. **Information** **Yarn:** Yarn A: 1 x 100g (425m) fingering weight sock yarn and Yarn B: 1 x 50g (420m) mohair silk laceweight yarn. The shawl sample is knit using yarn from Malabrigo sock in colour way Sandbank and Botanical Yarn Mohair Silk in Flock Fiber Fest 2024 colour way. **Suggested Needles:** US 4/3.5mm or needles required to get gauge. **Gauge:** 30 sts x 40 rows to 10cm/4” over stitch pattern blocked. Gauge is less important in a shawl, however, if your gauge is looser than specified more yarn will be required. **Measurements:** Shawl: approximately 180 cm/72” wingspan, 22.5cm/9” depth.
