I thought maybe a granny square blanket, but I didn’t want too many colours or squares, just enough of both to keep things interesting & fun. My goal was *impact* with *simplicity*, & as a result of having so much fun with this concept, I ended up designing & crocheting TWO blankets (see [Grannies BLEND IN][2]) This design lets you *play* with TEN colours! ONE colour is common to all squares (allow 900 - 1000m total yarn length) & then used for seaming and working the edging. The other NINE colours - 1 per square, each require between 150 - 200m of total yarn length. The squares are crocheted separately & seamed together, after which an easy scalloped edging is worked around the entire blanket.
