Ladd's Cardigan is the latest addition to the Portland series of designs, a loose collection made in collaboration with [Ritual Dyes][1] using their yarns and inspired by our favorite places in Portland. Other designs in the series include [Albina][2], [Winter Albina][3], [Hawthorne][4] and [Sellwood][5] (so far). The Ladd’s Cardigan is knit from the top down, starting with the back knit flat to the armhole split. Then, the front shoulders are picked up and the front shaping is worked flat, separately, to the armhole split. You then join the fronts and back to work the remainder of the body. The sleeves are picked up and worked in the round. The button bands are then picked up and worked, followed by the neckline. Then, the lace collar is picked up and worked, and finally, i-cords are made and attached This pattern was made using one strand of fingering weight wool held together with a strand of mohair throughout. You can substitute other yarn if you are able to match the gauge and create a fabric that you like. If using a single strand of thicker yarn, you will need only half of the recommended yardage (for Yarn A only). **SIZES** Measurements given are for the finished garment. This sweater is designed to fit with 5-10”/12.5-25.5 cm of positive ease at the chest. Sample shown is a size 2 on a 34” chest with 5.5” of ease. See Schematic for full fit details. **Chest Circumference (finished garment when buttoned): 1 (2, 3, 4, 5) {6, 7, 8, 9}** 36 (39.5, 43.5, 47, 51.5) {55.5, 59.5, 63, 67.5}” 91.5 (100.5, 110.5, 119.5, 131) {141, 151.5, 160, 171.5} cm **Gauge:** 18 sts and 27 rounds/rows = 4”/10 cm x 4”/10 cm in stockinette on main needle after blocking. Block your swatch as you will your finished garment and allow it to dry fully before measuring. **MATERIALS Yarn:** Sample is made using both yarns listed held together Ritual Dyes **A:** Maven 100% Rambouillet Wool 265 yds yards / 242 meters per 50g fingering weight **B:** Fae 72/28 Kid Mohair / Silk 459 yards / 419 meters per 50g lace weight Color used in sample: Lambs Ear (both yarns) **Yardage:** Note - yardage is estimated and may vary depending on yarn used, gauge variations and modification.
