The hat is knit flat in garter stitch (EASY AND RELAXING) with simple and instantly memorized short rows. I love the way this construction distributes colors along the entire length of the hat when you use a fun color changing yarn like Noro Kureyon. The stuffed star ornament knits up in only sixteen rows and bam! You have the cutest little gay elf, sickly Victorian child, winter sprite star goddess hat on earth.
