The Honey Moss shawl combines squishy worsted weight wool with big honeycomb cables that transition into a magnified Horseshoe lace. Once finished it begs to be wrapped up in! * **DETAILS** This shawl is knit sideways, increasing along one edge to create an asymmetrical shawl. The first half of the shawl is cables, which then give way to lace once we have built up a larger stitch count. **FINISHED MEASUREMENTS** Wingspan - 75”/190.5 cm Depth - 43”/109 cm **YARN REQUIREMENTS** *These are just approximations. Total yarn usage will depend on the yarn you use (fiber content, ply, etc.), your personal gauge, and any modifications you may make.* Worsted Weight Merino/Linen Blend 500 g/985 yds/900 m **SUGGESTED YARN** *For this shawl I chose a merino yarn blended with linen for the warmth and softness of the merino and ultimate drape of the linen. This worsted weight yarn creates an incredibly squishy and generously sized shawl to wrap up in!* Yama Merino Linen Worsted (100 g/197 yd/180 m) 5 - skeins Terre Verté Dark **SUGGESTED NEEDLES** Larger Needle (for the cable portion of the shawl): Size US 9/5.5 mm - 32”/80 cm circular Smaller Needle (for the lace portion of the shawl): Size US 8/5 mm - 32”/80 cm circular *(Use the needle size you need to achieve gauge.)* **NOTIONS** Stitch markers (optional), cable needle, row counter (optional), tapestry needle **GAUGE** 24 sts & 20 rows = 4”/10 cm *Measured over cable stitch using Cable Fabric Needle, after blocking.* 18 sts & 22 rows = 4”/10 cm *Measured over lace stitch using Lace Fabric Needle, after blocking.* **TECHNIQUES TO INDULGE IN** Long tail cast on I-cord edges Cables Lace Increasing Decreasing Reading a chart I-cord bind off **YARN SUBSTITUTION IDEAS** [Click here to be directed to a pdf with some yarn substitution ideas! These yarns have not all been tested, so we can not guarantee their outcome, but we do hope they provide a jumping off point for inspiration!][2] [1]: http://eepurl.com/diPxsr [2]: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Zb-FUhrhtYgmVA-jKdK3bJ1_pnCd6ZUX/view?usp=sharing
