Poet shawl

THE POET SHAWL is an asymmetric triangle shawl with seed stitch and lace panels. It's generous size makes it easy to style in a variety of ways, or you can just curl under it with a good book and a cup of tea. The shawl is designed for fingering weight yarn. I chose a rustic Finnsheep yarn but it would also look gorgeous in a smooth merino or silk blend. The Poet shawl looks best in solid or slightly variegated colors for the stitch pattern to show in its full glory. The lace pattern of this shawl is familiar from my most popular pattern, the Poet sweater that was published in Laine Magazine Issue 6. After all this time I still think it is the most beautiful stitch pattern I have ever knitted! Size one size Finished measurements: Wingspan: 265 m / 104 inches Height: 70 cm / 27.5 inches Yarn 4 skeins of Wool Me Once Fibers Rukki Single (100% Finnish wool, 420 m / 462 yards per 100 g), shown in colorway Aslan Or 1300 m / 1435 yards of similar fingering weight yarn (for example Wool Me Once Fibers Merino Single), plus a little extra for tassels (optional).
