If you have ANY inclination to being serious, or easily irritated by foolishness or cat knitting designers, please step away, and do not knit this. This is about fun. This is about forgetting we are in a frigging pandemic. If you don't want to hear complaints about Jean From I.T. and her 2003 Le Sabre and how she is always taking SFS' parking spot, please step away now 'cos this shit is real. Also, SFS occasionally lights up a cigarette. I DO NOT STRAP A LIT CIGARETTE TO HER PAW AND TAKE PICTURES, PEOPLE! (Yeah, I can frigging light one up on my own. -SFS) There is a Facebook group (but beware of spoilers) [here][2] that is all about Sharon and Casapinka designs that started with this MKAL and is carrying on. **It is important that you read the information about selecting yarns, below.** **Skill Level** 2 levels. **1. Absolute beginning shawl knitter**, and a more typical Casapinka pattern that is **2. Advanced Beginner**. Do not expect anything too difficult and do expect a lot of Netflix knitting. Life is too stressful now for anything else. If this is your first MKAL, don't worry! Go to the end of all of this and it's explained more for you. **Requires** 4 skeins of fingering weight yarn, amounts below. It is more important to get colors that are different: the black and white trick phone trick does not tell you this...read below and then really look at them (2 diff shades of the same color are fine, it's the variegated and speckled you need to follow the guidelines for.) **Budget yarns** can be found in your stash, at your local LYS, Knitpicks, Cascade, Webs (Valley Yarns Charlemont.) Do not worry about drape; it's a shawl and it's going to be fantastic in whatever you use. **Choosing Colors** [PLEASE SEE HERE][3] about how to choose colors. One variegated yarn is ok but pay special attention to the guide for speckled and variegated yarns and how to tell if they will work. I used [this kit here][4].
