Chocomania

Rich in color and texture, Chocomania shawl uses the most basic of crochet stitches: single crochet (and its variations) and chain. The pattern is written out and charted and includes a step by step tutorial. The technique used in this pattern is simple, yet it requires your attention and following the directions carefully to prevent tangling of the yarn. To get a better idea of how the cables are worked you may try it out on a small swatch using the simpler cable instructions given on the last two pages. **MATERIALS** - Yarn: Malabrigo Arroyo; sport weight; 335 yards / 306 m per 100 g skein; 100% Superwash Merino Wool - Hook: U.S. 7 (4.5 mm) - Yarn needle to weave in ends - Stitch markers **YARDAGE** The instructions are written for three sizes, which use 2 (3, 4) skeins in shade 686 Choco. **GAUGE FOR SWATCH** 18 sts and 14 rows = 4'' (10 cm) worked in ribbing stitch pattern only, after blocking.
