I don't remember if it was my Mom or my Gram who taught me this square but I've been using it forever. (Well since the late 60's/early 70's; but it seems like a long time ago now :-) I've used this easy square pattern for afghans; vests; scarves; and you name it! It's easy and versatile. You can make the lapghan larger or smaller by increasing or decreasing the number of rows in the square."
