[Jodi][1] and [Tracie][2] are two shawls I designed to honor two very good friends. **Get at 30% of BOTH SHAWLS** if you buy them together -you will need to put them together in your cart and buy them at the same time for the discount to work-. When I came to Alberta to finally meet them for the first time, Tracie asked me to design a shawl inspired by her sister, so I did! And I or course was so creative with the name... I just named it Jodi. Jodi is a crescent shaped shawl worked in DK yarn with beautiful faded lines and a garter stitch based lace pattern. Being worked in a heavier weight, it grows so so quickly you will barely notice even making it! Choose 3 colors in a gradient scale for a subtle faded effect like my sample, or 3 different bold ones for a bolder look. [Tracie was *my* surprise for her and you can read more about it here.][3] **FINISHED MEASUREMENTS** Approx. 72 inches (180 cm) from side to side and 15 inches (37.5 cm) from top to bottom at deepest point (after blocking). **MATERIALS** 3 skeins of Luxe DK by Walk Collection (70% Alpaca / 20% Silk / 10% Cashmere; 246 yards [225 m/100g]) or approx. 660 yards (600m) of DK weight yarn in 3 different colors. You will need approx. 220 yards (200 m) in Color 1, 240 yards (220 m) in Color 2 and 200 yards (180 m) in Color 3. The sample was made using colorways Arctic Fox (1); Metal Dust (2) and Volcanic Sand (3). Needles: US 7 (4.5 mm) needles. Other notions: Tapestry needle, a split ring st marker, blocking pins or wires. **GAUGE** 14.5 st and 32 rows to 4” (10cm) in garter st on US 7 (4.5 mm) needles after blocking. **CONSTRUCTION NOTES** This shawl is worked from the centre top down. Stitches are increased at each side on every other row to give it its characteristic crescent shape. The stripe sequence in this design make the colors change progressively, almost like a gradient.
