**Designed in Dublin, Ireland.**
Inspired by the meandering paths through the sand dunes along Brittas Bay Beach in co. Wicklow, Ireland, this Aran knitting hat pattern reflects the rare moment of calmness of the Irish coastline during Summer months. The snake cable winding through the hat is used here to touch on the meandering paths that weave through the sand dunes down to the shore, while the seed stitch represents the wild sand dune grasses and sea thistles surrounding the paths. The hat is finished with a half-twisted rib brim which can be rolled up or down to adjust for the perfect fit.
This pattern is designed to be knit in the round on double pointed needles. Alternatively, the pattern can be knit with circular needles utilising the magic loop method. The hat is knit bottom-up from the cast-on at the rim to the cast-off at the top of the hat.
