Cabled Heart Hat

**Pattern Description** The Cabled Heart Hat is an adult sized hat that features a folded ribbed brim and repeating cabled hearts with columns of flower stitches between pattern repeats. The original hat was designed and made for the Knit the Rainbow charity and the pattern is available free of charge. **Size** The pattern is written as one sized fits all for adults but contains directions to adjust the size as needed. **Measurements** The hat stretches to fit head sizes 18-22". **Needles** Suggested needles are US 6 (4 mm) circular needles. The magic loop method was used to complete the decreases on the sample hat but double pointed needles could also be used if preferred. You may choose to use smaller sized needles for the ribbing to achieve a cleaner look. **Gauge** For the 2x2 ribbing, 32 stitches & 33 rows = 4” For the cable pattern, 36 stitches & 39 rows = 4” **Materials** * ~210 yd (192 m) of DK weight yarn, sample yarn was Malbrigo Yarn Rio in the Aries color way * 5 stitch markers, one of which is distinct enough to be a beginning of round marker * Cable needle (optional if you prefer cabling without a needle) * Yarn needle for weaving in ends
