You begin with a rolled-edge neckband, then increase along four raglan lines so the body and both sleeves grow together. Once the yoke is deep enough, the sleeve stitches are placed on hold, the body is worked flat to the hem, and the sleeves are finished one at a time in the round. The cardigan closes with buttons, but there are no worked buttonholes: the buttons pass through the openings created by a simple slipped-stitch edge pattern along the front bands. Toggle buttons are recommended. Because it is worked top-down, the fit is easy to adjust.
