Astral Bloom Blanket

Welcome to the Astral Bloom Blanket. Inspired by the beautiful square featured in my Astral Bloom Poncho Top, this blanket gives the much-loved design a whole new way to shine. Create your blanket in a size that is perfectly suited to you by making as many—or as few—squares as you like. From a sweet baby blanket to a cosy throw or a generously sized bed blanket, the finished size is completely in your hands. For this design, the squares are brought together using a different joining method and finished with a lovely textured border that beautifully frames the blanket and complements the detail within each square. Play with colour, mix and match your yarns, or keep it simple with a timeless colour palette. However you choose to make yours, I hope you enjoy watching each Astral Bloom come together to create a beautiful blanket that is uniquely yours. Live, Love and Crochet Shaz xo **Skill Level:** [Intermediate / Advanced] **Finished Size:** varies depending on how many squares you make. Square measures approx. 65cm when using 8ply / DK yarn. Then you have to allow for a join that adds about 2.5cm in width and the border that is about 10cm on each edge. **Language:** - English only **Pattern Construction** * Create 4 TO 8 Astral Bloom Squares. * Join the squares together to form the body of the Blanket. * Finish with the beautiful border. Construction methods and any shaping or joining techniques specific to this design are fully explained throughout the pattern. **Gauge:** this is not important unless your tension is tight as you want a soft flowing finish. If you feel you have a firm tension then go up .5 to 1 in hook size. **You will need:** * Crochet hook(s) 5.5mm for 8ply / DK yarn * Scissors * Yarn needle * Stitch markers (recommended) **Yarn Requirements:** Any 8ply / DK weight yarn will work. You can use thicker yarn, just adjust your hook size to suit and keep your work soft and flowing. **Blanket 1** Panda Crypto 8 ply - 100% Acrylic yarn, 150gm / 28m per ball, colour used is #760009. Each square used just over 1 ball each. In total there were 5 ½ balls used for a 4 square blanket including joining and border. **Blanket 2** Panda Crypto 8 ply - 100% Acrylic yarn, 150gm / 28m per ball, colour used is #76. Each square used just over 1 ball each. In total there were 5 ½ balls used for a 4 square blanket including joining and border. You can use plain colours and work the colours to create a nice look.
