The Strawberries and Cream Bag

The Strawberries & Cream Bag is a fun, statement crochet bag combining strawberry granny squares with a gingham side panel. I have designed it to be both playful and practical, the finished bag has plenty of room for your everyday activities and can be customised with your choice of handles, closures and colour combinations. The pattern is written in US crochet terminology and is suitable for intermediate crocheters. Or... ambitious beginners :) It includes detailed step-by-step instructions, photographs and accompanying video tutorials for some of the techniques used throughout. Finished size: Approx. 28cm wide × 28cm high × 15cm deep You will need: • 5mm crochet hook • Bobbiny 3mm Junior Cord in colours; - Natural – 200m / 500g (2 balls) - Blossom – 200m / 500g (2 balls)* - Classic Red – 100m / 250g (1 ball) - Pastel Pink – 100m / 250g (1 ball) -Moss – approx. 20m / 50g • Scissors • Stitch markers • Tapestry needle *Some testers completed the bag using one 250g ball of Blossom, while others needed slightly more. Two balls are recommended to ensure you have enough. You will have yarn left over from Natural and Pastel Pink, so you can use these colours for your joins and finishing details if you prefer to purchase just one ball of Blossom. The pattern also includes options for adding grab handles, a cross-body strap, magnetic fastening, crochet ties, a zip and lining, so you can customise the finished bag to suit you. Please note: Substituting yarn may affect the finished size, structure and overall appearance of your bag. For the best results, choose a yarn that creates a firm, non gappy fabric when worked with a 5mm crochet hook.
