The left and right fronts are picked up from the back yoke shoulder edge, creating a diagonal seam on the back shoulder. The fronts and back are worked separately to the underarm, then joined to work in one piece back and forth with A-line increases. When the start of the pocket is reached, the pockets will be worked separately first. Stitches will then be picked up from the underside of the pockets to extend the sides of the cardigan in behind the pockets. The three sections will be joined together again so the bottom hem can be worked in one piece. The sleeves are picked up from the armhole edge and the shoulder cap shaped with short rows. The sleeve is knit top-down and in the round to the cuff. The collar is picked up from the neckline and worked double.
