Once you have knit the hat, you can move on to this shawl and use the remainder of the yarn for that! Otherwise, any DK weight yarn will work if you are making the shawl on its own! The nature of this shawl shape makes it very easy to modify by adding or omitting pattern repeats, and the construction makes it easy to see the size of your shawl. **» One Size:** 55'' / 138 cm long and 30'' / 76 cm deep, measured after blocking. **» Gauge:** 12 sts and 18 rows = 4'' / 10 cm; measured in two- color brioche stitch pattern knit flat (taken after blocking). ***MATERIALS:*** **» Yarn:** DK weight **Main Color (MC):** 402 yds / 368 m **Contrast Color (CC):** 408 yds / 373 m **» Shown in:** Twisted Ambitions Yarn Wicked DK (100% SW Merino wool; 250 yds / 229 m per 115 g) **MC:** 2 skeins in Heatwave (red) **CC:** 2 skeins in Breeze (blue) **» Needles:** 32'' / 81 cm US 6 / 4.0 mm circular needles Circular needles are used for two-color brioche knitting and for ease of shawl knitting.
