The Spirit of the West Scarf

I am so excited to be sharing this pattern with you! This project is an ode to my girlhood, packed full of plastic ponies and long car rides watching fields of horses passing by, dreaming of joining them and running free. I wanted this piece to take you along on one of those most special and beloved journeys from my childhood - and I hope that you love making this piece as much as I have. Growing up, the New Forest was truly a place where dreams came true, and where wild horses ran free. I am delighted to be able to support the ongoing work there to protect the precious habitat and its equine inhabitants for future generations. This pattern uses mirrored double knitting techniques. It includes written instructions and guidance, but the bulk of the pattern is worked from charts only. I have provided charts for both the right side and wrong side colourways. I used: 2 skeins of Knitting for Olive merino fingering weight in Dusty Honey (500m/100g) 
 2 skeins of Knitting for Olive merino fingering weight in colour Dark Cognac (500m/100g) 
 Finished dimensions approximately 186cm by just over 14cm (but my tension is on the tighter side, most similar projects I see are slightly larger than this). Additional materials - tapestry needle, additional set of needles of a similar gauge to the ones you knit with (for bind off).
