Tansy the Teddy Bear

Tansy the Teddy Bear is a classic amigurumi teddy with arms, legs and a little tail. At 30cm tall, Tansy is a lovely size for cuddling, and makes a great gift for little ones or any teddy bear lover. Tansy is a mashup of my Billy the Bear Lovey and Milo the Monkey amigurumi, so if you've made either of those before, a few parts will look familiar. You can choose between safety eyes or embroidered eyes, and instructions are included for both. Embroidered eyes are the safer option if you're making Tansy for a baby or child under 3. You'll find more detailed information about the crochet pattern below. Skill Level ----------- Easy **You should be comfortable with:** * Working in continuous rounds * Making a magic circle * Single crochet, increases and decreases * Crocheting into the BLO * Using a stitch marker * Sewing pieces together * Basic embroidery for the face * Reading a pattern carefully and counting your stitches Pattern written in US terms (English only). Finished size ------------- Using the yarn and hook specified in this pattern, my creation was 30cm / 11.8" high from the top of the head to the bottom of the feet, by 10cm / 3.9" wide across the tummy. Materials needed ---------------- * **Yarn:** Worsted/Aran * **Crochet hook:** 4mm (G) * **Recommended Yarn:** Paintbox Yarns Simply Aran (100% Acrylic) in Dark Brown (90 grams = 181 yards) and Cream (10 grams = 20 yards). **Other supplies:** * Stuffing * Needle * Scissors * Pins * Stitch markers x 2 * Black embroidery thread * 10mm safety eyes (optional) Gauge ----- Gauge is not required for this pattern, however keep tension consistent throughout. For reference, my gauge was: 4 sc stitches on 2.5cm / 1" 4 rounds on 2.5cm / 1" Pattern Notes ------------- * All parts are worked in continuous rounds unless stated otherwise. * Use a smaller hook than the yarn label recommends so your stuffing doesn't show through the stitches. * Keep tension consistent throughout. * Yarn weight and fibre can be customised, but ensure you change your hook size according to the yarn you use. This will also affect the final size. * Safety eyes are a choking hazard and are not suitable for children under 3 years of age.
