Over the Coral Sea CAL

A brand new blanket adventure inspired by my recent trip to the South Pacific Islands and beautiful Australia. Come take a walk with me through the rainforest of Cairns and meet me at Kuranda. Take a stroll on a sunset beach and hear the cockatoos calling to you in Wollongong. Explore the coral reef with me on the beautiful island of Lifou. Over The Coral Sea will have you "packing" your yarn stash for a cruise of stunning stitches and blanket magic. Come join me on another fun filled, Sunshine getaway. ***Over the Coral Sea is available for $7 (USD) for the duration of the CAL (25th September to 27th November), thereafter the price will be $10 (USD).*** The Prelude has been released. Please make sure you download a copy of The Prelude and Tutorial doc (separate file) and keep them handy for the duration of the CAL. **CAL information:** This is a 7 Part CAL including the border. Part 1 will be released on the 9th October 2026. Part 7 will be released on Friday 27th November 2026. You will only need to pay the purchase price once, NOT each time a new part is released. Parts are released weekly on a Friday. There will be 2 weeks between the release of Part 3 and 4. This will give you time to make any additional Mandalas that you need for your blanket. **Release dates:** Friday 25th September – Launch with The Prelude Friday 9th October – PART 1 Friday 16th October – PART 2 Friday 23rd October – PART 3 There will be 2 weeks between the release of Part 3 and 4. This will give you time to make any additional Mandalas that you need for your blanket. Friday 6th November – PART 4 Friday 13th November – PART 5 Friday 20th November – PART 6 Friday 27th November – PART 7 Parts will only be released on a Friday after I’m adequately caffeinated LOL! Please check your library, either on Ravelry or the Hooked on Sunshine website (depending on where you purchased), for weekly pattern part releases. You do not need to receive an email to access new parts as they are uploaded to libraries, so don’t panic if you don’t get one, just pop into your library. The pattern is made up of mandalas which are joined and filled with lacework, making the blanket adaptable in size. It uses US terminology. Skill level - Intermediate. **Material list:** • Any yarn of your choice – I used Colourspun DK cotton (50g/125m) for my Colourway and a 4mm hook. • Hook applicable to your yarn weight. • Needle for sewing in ends and needle join. • Stitch markers - lots! In the prelude of the pattern you will find detailed stitch tutorials, yarn quantities used for my colourway and many more bits of useful info! Round for round instructions with each part. Detailed photo tutorials with each part. Print Friendly files for each part - pattern files without photo tutorials (there is no print friendly file for The Prelude). The pattern has been designed in cotton but is suited to most yarns. If you are not working the pattern in my choice of yarn, your yarn quantities may differ. Selecting multiple colours to work the pattern will also increase the quantity of yarn used. Yarn thickness, hook size and tension will affect the overall size of the blanket.
