easy pocket little pig

Piggie is a tiny knitted pig from my #nopressurepatterns series. She is worked in the round on two parallel needles with most of the little details knitted directly into the body, so there is very little finishing at the end. You can make the simple version with tiny bobble arms and feet, give her long silly limbs, or turn one arm into a little hugger so she can carry a flower, leaf, twig or tiny note. The pattern is designed to work with whatever yarn you already have. Gauge is not important, changing the yarn and needle size will give you a bigger or smaller Piggie. My sample was made with DROPS Nepal and 3 mm DPNs. Piggie starts with Judy’s Magic Cast-On and is finished with Kitchener Stitch. The ears are picked up directly from the finished body, and the eyes and nostrils are embroidered afterwards. This is a quick little project for using up scraps, making a pocket companion, a bag charm, a tiny gift, or just knitting something for no particular reason. As always with #nopressurepatterns, your Piggie does not have to look exactly like mine. The idea behind my designs is to show that no perfection is needed to have fun while knitting.
