Hex Patchwork Mittens

The Hex Mittens are a fitted pair of two fingered mittens that feature an open hexagon patchwork design. The main body of the mitten is fairly plain save for the striking textured patches and stitched embroidery. The design works well with both a lower contrast and / or striking colour scheme. It is recommended to use a lace to fingering weight mohair or textured yarn for the patches. **Yarn and Meterage:** Main colour: Drops Flora [colour 05] (50g = 210m / 230yds) Patches: Drops Kid Silk [colour 35] (25g = 200m / 219yds) Edging and ribbing: Drops Flora [colour 02] (50g = 210m / 230yds) For both mittens: 56g (235m) Drops Flora [colour 5] Less than 5g Drops Kid Silk 8g (34m) Drops Flora [colour 02] This pattern can be a great way to use up odd lengths of scrap yarn and exciting textured yarns for contrast within the patches. **Sizing Information:** This pattern has one size, designed to fit a hand of 18cm hand circumference. The fit is loose and has about 0,5cm of positive ease around the hand and fingers. Sizing can be adjusted by altering gauge. **Gauge:** 40st x 50r in stockinette stitch on 2mm needles or appropriate sized needle to meet optimal gauge.
