Countdown to Christmas, Tree & Gifts

This pattern is for a decoration which can either be used as a calendar throughout December, or to countdown the days to Christmas. This version includes a Christmas tree and gifts, although I have 2 other festive designs available. Add all 3 to your cart to receive an automatic bundle discount! This pattern is written in English using American crochet terms and contains photos to help you every step of the way. All of my patterns have been independently tested prior to publication. **You will need:** Yarn of your choice. Yarn weight doesn’t really matter - the size of your project will simply turn out bigger or smaller! I used King Cole Cherished DK (equivalent to weight 3 / light worsted weight) and my finished project measures approximately 16cm tall x 12.5cm wide x 6.25cm deep. Please ensure that you use the same weight yarn throughout your project. **For the tree & gifts (pages 4 - 5), you will need the following colours:** * Tree colour - I used green (approx. 22.5m). * Star colour - I used yellow (approx. 2m). * 1st Gift colour - I used red (approx. 4.5m). * 2nd Gift colour - I used blue (approx. 4.5m). **For the calendar section (pages 6 - 10), you will need the following colours:** * 2 cubes colour - I used pale green (approx. 58m). * Outer box colour - I used brown (approx. 97m). Please note - The amount of yarn used will vary according to yarn weight, hook size and stitch tension so these measurements are only a rough guide. The pattern refers to the colours that I used, however these can be substituted for colours of your choice. **You will also need:** * A suitable size hook for the yarn you have chosen - I used a 4mm hook. * A small amount of toy stuffing for the tree and gifts. * 38 small beads for decorating your tree with - the ones I used were 4mm glass beads. * The numbers can be embroidered onto the cubes or you may wish to use some self-adhesive felt numbers - the ones I used were 2.5cm tall (advent numbers sourced from Hobbycraft). You will need the numbers 012345 on the 1st cube & 012678 on the 2nd cube. * ‘7 count’ plastic canvas. I had a 26cm x 33cm sheet (that’s 10.25 x 13.5 inches) & I used around two thirds of a sheet. A higher count (that’s the number of holes per inch) will mean the plastic is more bendy so stick to 7 count if possible. I source my plastic canvas (sturdy & good quality) from wool warehouse. * Other tools you will need are a tapestry needle and some scissors. **You are welcome to sell the items that you make using this pattern, but please do not sell / share the pattern itself.
