Gnome Sweet Gnome

Gnome Sweet Gnome is a cozy, two-color reversible mosaic crochet blanket featuring two gnomes, their little dog, and a warm fireplace scene. The design is approximately queen size and creates a beautiful image on both sides of the finished blanket. I created this pattern for my grandmother, Chery, and her late husband, Fred. Chery is a gnome-loving, cozy-crafting queen and has always been such an inspiration to me. This blanket was designed with them in mind, and I am so happy to finally be able to share it with other crocheters. This is a written, row-by-row crochet pattern using a reversible mosaic technique. Each row is worked entirely in one color, alternating between Color A and Color B. There are no mid-row color changes, and the work is never turned or flipped. If you would rather use traditional mosaic crochet, every negative stitch can simply be replaced with a single crochet. The sample blanket was made using size 4 worsted weight yarn in Navy and Blush with a 4.5 mm crochet hook. I used approximately 11 to 12 skeins of each color, with 300 yards per skein. Your finished size and yarn usage may vary depending on your tension, yarn choice, and crochet style. Because the yarn is cut after each row, you will naturally end up with yarn tails along both sides of the blanket. I chose to leave mine as fringe, but they can also be woven in or covered with an envelope border. Please note: This listing is for a digital PDF crochet pattern only.
