Three for the Elven-Kings Cowl

*Three for the Elven-Kings under the sky. Seven for the Dwarf-Lords in their halls of stone. Nine for mortal Men doomed to die. One for the dark Lord on his dark throne.* *In the Land of Mordor where shadows lie. One Ring to rule them all. One Ring to find them. One Ring to bring them all. And in the darkness, bind them. In the Land of Mordor where shadows lie.* Use a 2 or 3 millimeter hook if you have loose tension (like me), or a 4.5 to 6 millimeter hook if you have tighter tension (whatever is easiest for you). This is the Three for the Elven-Kings Under the Sky Cowl. It is LOTR inspired but can be any mesh-y stitched cowl. I encourage you to experament with different yarns. I used the Loops & Threads Heathered Tweed yarn (which tbh I kind of hate using... it looks thicker than it actually is, and isn't really THAT soft. So try not to impulse buy it until you know how it crochets...), but you can use any DK, Worsted, or Aran weight yarn. If you know my designs, you have seen my Elves of Mirkwood fingerless gloves or my Elves of Mirkwood boot toppers. You can see I took inspiration from those. Personally, I love elves (I say this while wearing a Legolas shirt). And I think of them as graceful, delicate but strong, musical, and connected to nature. I tried to show that in this cowl, by adding mesh rows, BLO rows, and a variaty of stitches. A Seven For the Dwarf-Lords cowl, Nine for Mortal Men cowl, and One For the Dark Lord cowl will come out soon, and when they do, I will make a bundle with them that will have a discounted price. Just so everyone knows, I DO KNOW Yarning for Whimsy already did this, but that was knitting, and it was hats.
