He finds so many dainties he needs a rucksack to haul them home. Robin can share clothing with [Cardinal Gnome](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/cardinal-gnome) **Bird Construction:** Robin is constructed using a combination of seaming and picking up stitches. He is worked top down and in the round. His clothing and accessories are knit in the round. **Yarn** Sample 1 Tea with Toads Shetland Fingering (350m/100g) in the following colours: Robin wings, head and tail: Medium Grey Robin body: Robin Breast Robin Beak: Golden Yellow Legs: Birdy Feet Beige Acorn Hat: Hazelnut Brown Rucksack: Hazelnut Brown Worm: Birdy Feet Beige Spider: Blackest Black Beetle: Hazelnut Brown Sweater Main: Sage Green Sweater CC: Bright Red Sample 2 Jamieson and Smith 2 ply Jumper Weight (fingering, 105m/25g) in the following colours: Robin wings, head and tail: FC58 Marled Brown Mix Robin body: 125 Orange Robin Beak: 91 Egg Yolk Yellow Legs: 3 Pinky Fawn Acorn Hat: FC 44 Brown Mix Rucksack: FC 44 Brown Mix Worm: 3 Pinky Fawn Spider: Dyed Black 77 Beetle: FC 44 Brown Mix Sweater Main: FC62 Light Grey Green Mix Sweater CC: 9113 Dark Red **Amounts (approximate):** Robin: 10 grams total Beak: Short length (less than 1 gram) Legs: 5 grams Acorn Hat: 3 grams Rucksack: 4.5 grams Worm: 1 gram Spider: Short length (less than 1 gram) Beetle: Short length (less than 1 gram) Sweater Main: 5 grams Sweater CC: Short length (less than 1 gram) **Other Materials:** -2x 4mm black seed beads for bird eyes (or black embroidery thread). -Two lengths of black thread and a sewing needle (for sewing on beads). -Darning/tapestry needle, waste yarn to put stitches on hold. -Stuffing (ideally wool because it gives the bird a pleasing heft, but can use polyfil, fabric, or yarn scraps). -2x buttons for the rucksack (I used 1 cm). -A skewer, extra knitting needle, thin chopstick, or similar tool for stuffing small spaces. **IMPORTANT:** These birds are not safe for children under 3 due to small knitted parts that are choking hazards.
