Symbols of Halloween Wreath & Garland

This pattern includes instructions on how to make the 5 halloween themed items, how to make the wreath cover (to fit any sized wreath base) as well as how to assemble both the finished wreath or alternatively how to attach the items to a garland. This pattern is written in English using American crochet terms and contains photos to help you every step of the way. All of my patterns have been independently tested prior to publication. **You will need:** Yarn of your choice. Yarn weight doesn’t really matter - the size of your project will simply turn out bigger or smaller! I used King Cole Cherished DK (equivalent to weight 3 / light worsted) for the halloween items & chunky weight yarn (equivalent to weight 5 / bulky) for the wreath cover. The pattern will show you how to make the cover fit the wreath using any weight of yarn however. **For the ghost (pages 4 - 5), you will need the following colours:** * White (or glow in the dark yarn works well too) (approx. 18.25m). **For the pumpkin (pages 6 - 7), you will need the following colours:** * Orange (approx. 20m). * Brown (approx. 2m). **For the spider & cobweb (pages 7 - 9), you will need the following colours:** * Dark grey (approx. 9m). * White (approx. 5.5m). This is only required if you are making the cobweb for the wreath. **For the witch’s hat (pages 9 - 10), you will need the following colours:** * Dark purple (approx. 12.5m). * Orange (approx. 3.25m). **For the bat (pages 11 - 12), you will need the following colours:** * Black (approx. 10m). **For the wreath cover (page 13) you will need the following:** The pattern will show you how to make the cover fit the wreath using any weight of yarn. I used 124m of chunky weight yarn. Please Note - The amount of yarn used will vary according to yarn weight, hook size and stitch tension so these measurements are only a rough guide. The pattern refers to the colours that I used, however these can be substituted for colours of your choice. **You will also need:** * A suitable size hook for the yarn you have chosen - I used a 4mm hook for the halloween items and a 5mm hook for the wreath cover. * A pair of 9mm black safety eyes for the ghost. * A small amount of toy stuffing. * If you are attaching the items to a wreath then you will need a flat-backed polystyrene / styrofoam wreath base. The one I used was 25 cm in diameter. * A tapestry needle (the longer, the better). * You may find it useful to have some long nosed pliers (for pulling the needle through the wreath). * Other tools you will need are a tapestry needle, some scissors and some stitch markers. **You are welcome to sell the items that you make using this pattern, but please do not sell / share the pattern itself.
